OUR PROJECTS
1. Kikvi Cluster SWM Project
The Cluster Municipal Solid Waste Management Project serves seven local Grampanchayats in Bhor Tehsil, Pune district, along with 30+ hotels, restaurants, and 18 housing societies as waste generators. Launched in September 2024, it currently processes 6.2 tons of dry and wet waste per day at the Kikvi village facility. As the first-ever cluster project in Bhor Tehsil, this 15 TPD capacity Material Recovery Facility handles manual sorting, plastic cleaning and shredding, paper and cardboard baling, and wet waste processing through windrow composting. The project positively impacts approximately 45,000 people by improving sanitation and hygiene. With a five-year tenure, it plans to integrate 3–4 more local government bodies to optimize facility capacity.
2. Lavale Wet Waste Management Project
The project serves 27 housing societies in Pune as waste generators. Started in January 2025, it currently processes 4.6 tons of wet waste per day at the Lavale village facility in Mulshi Tehsil. The 10 TPD capacity windrow composting facility includes fine segregation of foreign materials, shredding, pile formation, turning, screening, and packing as part of daily operations. This initiative positively impacts approximately 1,970 people by improving sanitation and hygiene. With a five-year tenure, the project aims to process 6+ tons of waste per day to maximize facility capacity.
3. Ganesh Festival (2024) Nirmalya Project
Jansuvidha Social Foundation launched this project on 20th September 2024 to convert approximately 400 tons of holy Nirmalya from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area into high-quality organic compost using an eco-friendly and efficient composting process with minimal environmental impact. The windrow composting method will produce 50 to 55 tons of organic compost, which will be sold to farmers. This initiative significantly reduces 0.7 tons of carbon/methane emissions per ton compared to chemical fertilizer production, resulting in a total reduction of over 35 tons of emissions by the project’s completion. Additionally, it will generate approximately ₹2,75,000 in revenue through compost sales.
4. Hinjewadi IEC Project
The behavioral change initiative for solid waste segregation included various activities such as door-to-door waste generation surveys, supervision and monitoring with demonstrations, street plays, school and college meetings, rallies, plogathons, and Swachhata Abhiyan. The project covered 67 hotels and restaurants, 52 housing societies, and 38,000 stakeholders of Hinjewadi Grampanchayat. Launched in January 2024 and concluded in April 2024, the initiative successfully achieved 80% waste segregation among households.
The project highlighted that Hinjewadi, being densely populated with IT parks, metro rail, vegetable markets, and paying guest accommodations, generates approximately 20 tons of dry, wet, and hazardous waste per day.
